DEATH BEGINS IN THE COLON

You could watch this video and be done with 90% of the content of today’s blog. But the 10% also contains some real juice - so go right ahead and have your fill :)

The Royal Society of Medicine of Great Britain, comprised of 57 leading physicians, reported: "Death begins in the colon." They concluded that nearly every contemporary chronic disease is related to poisons in the colon.

In order to have good health, we must have good blood; for the blood is the current of life. Clean blood is a first essential for health of body and mind. Clean blood is impossible without a clean colon. The impurities of the body, if not allowed to escape, are taken back into the blood and forced upon the internal organs. Nature, to relieve herself of poisonous impurities, makes an effort to free the system.

"If the colon is not working properly, toxins must exit the body through other routes: the kidneys, the skin, the breath. Many of these patients have bad halitosis, body odor, etc. When a person becomes ill from colon disease, he or she may develop a variety of symptoms, including headaches, muscle aches, fatigue, autoimmune diseases like lupus or rheumatoid arthritis, cancer, or cardiovascular disease." William L. Cowden, M.D.

Can you imagine what would happen to a plate of food left on the counter in 98 degree heat for two days? After two days, very likely the plate would hold an unsightly, sticky mix of

•  Rotten protein
•  Rancid fat
•  Fermenting carbohydrates
•  Filled with feeding and hatching organisms and microbes.

That is not far from what happens inside the colon when food, for whatever reasons, is not properly digested.

The colon is a sewerage system, but by neglect and abuse it becomes a cesspool. When it is clean and normal we are well and happy. Let it stagnate, and it will distil the poisons of decay, fermentation and putrefaction into the blood, poisoning the brain and nervous system so that we become mentally depressed and irritable, it will poison the heart so that we are weak and listless, poisons the lungs so that the breath is foul, poisons the digestive organs so that we are distressed and bloated, and poisons the blood so that the skin is sallow and unhealthy. In short, every organ of the body is poisoned, and we age prematurely, look and feel old, the joints are still and painful, neuritis, dull eyes and a sluggish brain overtake us; the pleasure of living is gone.

Both fat and skinny people hold large amounts of mucoid matter in their colon. I often hear people say, "Oh! I don’t need colon therapy! I go two or three times a day!" Regularity is NOT a reliable yardstick here. Mucoid lining build up begins as early as age six".

"When the most popular cowboy in movie history died (his name was John…) over seventy (70) pounds of mucoid matter was removed from his colon upon autopsy. The odour was beyond description. The great actor's transverse colon, the part that hangs over men's belt line, was almost 12 inches in diameter. Yet the lumen (opening) through which his waste flowed was only 1 inch in diameter. The difference was accumulated mucoid matter, toxins and drugs. A "healthy" colon should be about two inches in total diameter".

"When you see a person's belly hanging over the belt line, or filling a women's pelvic area, you are seeing a VERY engorged and prolapsed (i.e sagging) colon."

"When the bowel is that dirty, it can harbour an amazing variety of very harmful bacteria and parasites. It's interesting to note that worms outrank cancer as man's deadliest enemy on a worldwide basis. It is estimated that 200 million people worldwide are infected by these intestinal parasites".

"These worms range in size from microscopic single-celled animals to 20 foot long tapeworms. These parasites kill more people annually than cancer. One in four people in the world today are infected by roundworms"

"The need for bowel sanitation and cleanliness has been sadly neglected for sometime now. A bowel movement every two or three days is considered normal and acceptable. We of the holistic professions know better. Our experiences prove beyond doubt that poor bowel condition is the source for many, many disorders in the body. Recently, medical researchers in African countries have had a first-hand opportunity to verify these beliefs".

"Both British and South African medical scientists strongly insist that what is usually referred to as "regularity" may be a matter of life and death. An insufficient number of bowel movements, and too little fibre and bulk in the faeces may often explain the existence of gall bladder disorders, heart problems, varicose veins, appendicitis, clotting in deep veins, hiatal hernia, diverticulitis, arthritis and cancer of the colon. This complete turn-around in medical orientation comes from top-notch surgeons and biochemists".

Research groups like H.S Goldsmith (Lancet, 1975) and Reddy and Wynder (Journal of the National Health Institutes, 1975) reported that "Westerners produce small amounts of faeces every 24 to 48 hours, and that their stools are hard, segmented, frequently painful and difficult to excrete. On the other hand, eaters of primitive diets eliminate three times as much waste with soft and voluminous faeces that are easy to excrete. Westerners excrete the remains of food eaten two days earlier, while groups like the Hunza report a maximum intestinal transit time of ten hours. The danger of constipation is highly underestimated.

The rule for regularity is:  one meal in – one meal out.

When “that stuff” lingers longer than it should …bad things can happen.

Just think about that plate of rotting, infested food on the counter and it is easy to understand Dr. Jensen’s warning;  “Death Begins in the Colon.”

Controlling or eliminating constipation …
is one of the most important steps you can take to protect your health.

The consequences of colon toxins, from the accumulating, rotting debris, colon parasites, attached to the wall of a sluggish colon, damaging your body, stealing your food, poisoning your body with their wastes are going to make you sick before it kills you.

Your body performs four functions to process the food you eat into the substances it needs to sustain itself:

  • Ingestion, you select, prepare and eat food – the part of the process you control.
  • Digestion, the conversion of solid food into liquid nutrients to energize your body, support the repair and replacement of cells and tissue that are damaged or worn everyday.
  • Assimilation, the movement of nutrients from the intestinal tract, through the blood stream to support cellular function.
  • Elimination, the gathering and movement of cellular wastes through the blood stream back to the intestinal tract to be discarded from the body.

Once you start chewing, 9 orderly automatic processes begin:

  1. A signal is sent to evacuate the bowel to make room for the new batch of nutrients (one meal in – one meal out).
  2. Your stomach begins creating acid and other gastric juices to convert the meal into chyme (liquefied food).
  3. After a brief time, the acid and digestive juices are neutralized as the chyme moves into your intestines
  4. An army of microbes, called symbiotes, digest the chyme – producing the nutrients that energize, repair and rebuild your body.
  5. The microbially processed nutrients pass through the intestinal wall into your blood stream for transport to the cells.
  6. The nutrients move through the arterial wall to bathe cells – creating energy, supporting the repair and replacement of damaged and worn cells, tissue and structures.
  7. Wastes transferred to the blood stream and lymph system including:  metabolic wastes, parts of old cells, parts from virus, bacteria, fungi and intestinal parasites, colon parasites and organ parasites that are destroyed by the immune system
  8. The debris is filtered from the blood and lymph by the kidneys and liver and returned to the digestive tract
  9. Finally, the debris is gleaned for any reusable nutrients such as water, minerals and amino acids after which the remaining waste and toxins exit the body.

The consequences of imperfect digestion …is like eating a plate of spoiled food - except, the organisms are intestinal parasites, colon parasite and organ parasites feeding on, and damaging, your body producing wastes of their own.

The byproducts from the rotting food are taking the place of nutrients, moving into the blood stream, through the arterial wall bathing the cells in toxins and debris that will overwhelm the body’s ability to keep itself clean and cast out the poisons that can kill you.

2 questions you need to consider

1.  If the sewer was backed up in your home …
how long would it take you to call a plumber?

2.  If constipation will kill you …
what is it doing to you before you die?

Dr. Jensen believes …the accumulating mass, inside your body, of feeding organisms and toxic debris, will make you sick and diseased before it kills you.

The single most essential aspect of health is promoting and maintaining the automatic processes that sustain and heal your body – starting with the management of constipation.

“Pulling the plug” on a clogged system is therefore the best, first step you can take in the journey to reclaim and protect your health.

10 CANCER-CAUSING FOODS

Cancers are Evil.

One could reel out a whole page filled with sad stats of how much of mankind it has degraded and destroyed over time. I remember sometime back someone asked me about its cause(s) but I had very little to say. Well, am not that clueless anymore. And, yes you guessed it - it's linked to what we eat. The food that we and our children consume regularly may be causing cancer.  With astonishing numbers of diagnoses on the rise, it is up to us to educate ourselves and take action. Minor and major adjustments might help your life.

Foods that can cause cancer are said to be carcinogenic. Here is a list of the most common foods that we eat that may contain the most carcinogens.
1. Microwave Popcorn

You would never believe that a seemingly innocent bag of microwave popcorn could be so dangerous to your health. The lining of the bag, contains a chemical called perfluorooctanoic acid which is also found in teflon. This chemical has been linked to cause cancer and infertility in animal studies. Most companies use many preservatives and GMO’s that also contribute to other illnesses. In addition, microwaving alone depletes nutrients in all of whatever is microwaved.

2. Potato Chips

Potato chips are difficult to not eat when hunger and convenience calls. They are always around us and are so satisfying to eat. However, the balance between convenience and health isn’t comparable. Other than having super high amounts of sodium, they cause weight gain and can higher your cholesterol. They also contain lots of preservatives and artificial coloring and flavors which are dangerous to your health. When fried, a chemical called acrylamide is produced which is a known carcinogen found in cigarettes. Other alternatives to potato chips include baking your own kale chips or purchasing a dehydrator and baking your own fruit or vegetable chips.
3. Can Goods

The scariest canned food is canned tomatoes or any food that has high acidity. The acidity causes BPA’s (Bisphenol-A - an endocrine disrupting chemical) to leech from the lining of the can into the Food itself. BPA’s can disrupt hormones levels, cause brain and behavior problems, lead to cancer, heart problems and many other health problems. Children seem to be the most susceptible as well as ourselves. NAFDAC has not enforced any laws stating whether BPA’s are found in the can or not and don’t require labeling. However there's ample research-based evidence suggesting disturbingly high occurrence in most canned foods. It is recommended to try to purchase fresh foods and avoid cans and bottles which can cause the leeching of BPA’s into our everyday food.

4. Highly processed white flours

The goal of avoiding highly processed white flours is to starve cancer tumors. The tumors feed mainly on sugars in the bloodstream that are contained in white flour. Refining the grain, depletes its natural occurring nutrients. In the past, mills aged their flour to whiten it. Today it is bleached with a chemical named chlorine gas. Chlorine gas can be lethal and isn’t safe to inhale.  White flour contains a high glycemic rate that boosts our blood sugar levels which is directly believed to be the cause of diabetes. Healthy alternatives are hemp flour, brown rice flour, and coconut flour etc…

5. Refined Sugars

The Nobel laureate in medicine, German Otto Warburg, in 1931, discovered that tumors and cancers both use sugars to “feed” themselves to increase in size. This alone is a scary thought. These cancer cells prefer high fructose corn syrup because it is the easiest and mostly quickly metabolized. Refined sugars also spike insulin levels which cause a lot of other health problems. HFCS (High-fructose corn syrup) is found in almost all of our everyday foods so please read labels when selecting foods while shopping. Healthy alternatives include coconut sugar, honey, organic agave and dates for culinary uses.

6. Consuming Non-organic fruits

The most dangerous non organic fruits are apples, oranges, grapes, and berries. They are know to contain many pesticides and chemicals such as: thiodicarb, atrazine (which is banned in European companies), organophosphates as well as dangerous fertilizers and hormones. They are not only dangerous to humans but also to animals and insects. So by eating organic fruits you are not only minimizing the amount of toxins in your body but also improving the environment as well.

7. GMO’s

GMO’s are genetically modified organisms. These are foods that are grown and/or modified by chemicals. These are the most dangerous of all considering we don’t know the long lasting effects yet. They are unhealthy, contaminate land forever, increase herbicide use, harm the environment, and on the contrary belief actually don’t increase yields. They should be avoided at all cost. So please read labels and take action against the GMO movement from the government. We should choose to make ourselves much healthier and to encourage more non GMO options to be be available.

8. Farmed fish

Now here's a sad one - especially for lovers of "Point & Kill". But truth is farmed fish are fed a diet which is totally unnatural to them but they have no choice but to eat. These diets include antibiotics, pesticides, chemicals and other carcinogens. 60 percent of salmon that is eaten in the USA is farm raised in overcrowded and unclean conditions. No prizes guessing there's no statistics in Nigeria. Farmed salmon can contain high levels of mercury, dioxins, and PCB’s. They are fed chemicals to make their color more like wild salmon, and fed pellets of chicken feces, corn meal, soy, and genetically modified canola oil. It is highly recommended to purchase wild caught seafood whenever possible.

9. Soda Pop

Soda pop contains large amounts of chemicals and artificial colorings. They are packed full of sugar and lead to numerous health problems including obesity. They can lead to insulin resistance and inflammation in the body. They also cause gastro-esophageal reflux disease. This disease causes properties from the stomach to leak into the esophagus which can be painful.  They also irritate already occurring ulcers.. All of these problems combined definitely doesn’t help us to be cancer free. Try to avoid all sodas because they are an empty source of calories and are non nutritious.

10. Hydrogenated Oils

Hydrogenated oils are altered to look appealing to the eye and are used to preserve foods for as long as possible. All hydrogenated oils are considered vegetable oils. They are made into vegetable oil by chemically altering its original state. They have been know to change our cell membranes structure and flexibility which can cause cancer. It is recommended to avoid them and to alternatively use coconut or grape seed oil for similar culinary uses.
So there you have it. We need to take charge of what we eat and what we feed our families. Resist the pull of advertising down the vortex of unhealthy eating lifestyles. Your body matters, take care of it.

WHERE IS MY WATER BOTTLE???

Yes, it's true, I am a blessed man.

One of the biggest expressions of God's blessing in my life is my wife. I call her my First Lady. Why? Well, let's just say those were the first set of words that bubbled into my heart the first time I saw her in church and thought, "hey, she might be the one". Anyway, more on that some other time. Suffice to mention though, I always considered her water drinking habits somewhat bizarre and old fashioned. At a go, my wife would guzzle 1ltr of water. And when I'd challenge her she'd remind me that scientists recommend an adult human to drink as much as 1.5 liters daily. I know someone's saying, "so kini big deal" but hey, for people like me, I struggled to even finish a single sachet of 50cl "pure water" all at once. Anyone out there feel me??

So it was difficult to wrap my head around the idea of drinking that much water in a day. It's ok if I got thirsty and went for a cup, or if I fixed me one glass after a meal but to drink as much as 1.5L was an impossibility. That was until I read what am about to share this morning. But first, let me explain to you

My Top 5 Reasons for not drinking enough water

  1. Drinking water only crossed my mind on two occasions: Whenever I got thirsty or as a meal accompaniment. So I often went a whole day without drinking even up to 50cl.
  2. And then when I got thirsty I'd opt for a bottle of soft drink or fruit juice - I considered them suitable substitutes - after all they're all fluid. So I thought. I wrong I was.
  3. Getting water wasn't always within arms's reach. I had to at least walk  to the dispenser. Too much work, I concluded.
  4. Where's the space for the food if I filled my tummy with water? The real nutrition was in  the food after all...
  5. Though I had heard it been said before that drinking water on an empty stomach was a good habit, I seemed to get my intestines all twisted every time I practiced it. It also made me uncomfortable, light-headed and distinctly nauseated.

At the end of the read, I'll also share with you the corresponding steps I took to address the five (5) reasons. So, enjoy!

Dehydration or Disease?

Dehydration, and the importance of drinking water, have always been popular topics in health circles. The general consensus is that the minimum water requirement for the average individual is 1.5 litres of water per day, in order to maintain smooth body functioning.

Others argue that we get enough water through our diet, and that supplementing this intake is superfluous.

The fact is that our body loses a significant amount of water everyday through sweating, breathing, digesting, bowel movement and passing water. Research indicates that a normal healthy body loses up to 2.5 litres of water -through the functions above- in average temperatures, during normal daily activities. Exercise triggers a more considerable fluid loss.

Until recently, we've underestimated the danger of - even mild - dehydration. When you realize that all bodily functions depend on water, you appreciate the importance of supplementing your water intake to ensure effective re-hydration of the body and organs for proper functioning.

If your body is not sufficiently hydrated, the cells will draw water from your bloodstream, which will make your heart work harder. At the same time, the kidneys cannot purify blood effectively. When this happens, some of the kidney's workload is passed on to the liver and other organs, which may cause them to be severely stressed.

Additionally, you may develop a number of minor health conditions such as constipation, dry and itchy skin, acne, nosebleeds, urinary tract infection, coughs, sneezing, sinus pressure, and headaches.

The late Dr F. Batmanghelidj, M.D, who dedicated his life to researching the effects of dehydration, and the correlation between dehydration and disease, made an interesting discovery.

He realized that the biggest seller for drug companies was a class of chemicals, which are strong antihistamines. Most strong pain medications contain antihistamines. "I discovered that histamine is a vital chemical messenger in the brain. Histamine has a most important function not written about in medical textbooks. It is in charge of water intake and drought management in the body. It is less active when the body is fully hydrated, and becomes increasingly active when the body becomes dehydrated. In short, histamine produces pain when an area in the body is suffering from drought!"

He goes on to add: "My research revealed that unintentional dehydration produces stress, chronic pains and many degenerative diseases. Dry mouth is not the only sign of dehydration and waiting to get thirsty is wrong".

This discovery drove Dr Batmanghelidj to successfully experiment with curing his patients with water.

In his book "Your Body's Many Cries for Water" he reiterates the importance of continuously re-hydrating the body to cure and prevent disease. He describes fascinating case studies where he successfully cured patients suffering from various diseases with a simple water-drinking regime.

Dehydration, The Silent Killer

The human body cannot survive beyond 6 days without water. Symptoms of dehydration often occur within 3 days of diarrhea or vomiting, when the body is not adequately supplemented with water. Dehydration is especially fatal in hot climates.

It's hard to believe that in our day and age, it is still responsible for killing millions every year in the developing world. As usual, the easiest victims are the vulnerable infants, children and the elderly.

Early symptoms of dehydration usually include hangover-like headaches, blurred vision, lowered blood pressure, and dizziness or fainting when standing up. Untreated dehydration generally results in delirium, unconsciousness and death.

Dehydration symptoms become noticeable soon after 2% of the body's normal water volume has been lost. The first symptoms are thirst and discomfort, along with loss of appetite and an increasingly dry skin. Athletes may suffer up to 50% loss of performance, and experience flushing, low endurance, rapid heart rates, elevated body temperatures, and rapid onset of fatigue.

The symptoms become increasingly severe with greater water loss. The heart and breathing rates increase to compensate for decreased plasma volume and blood pressure, while body temperature may rise because of decreased sweating. Around 5% to 6% water loss, causes grogginess or sleepiness, headaches and nausea. Over 10% fluid loss triggers muscle spasms, the skin shrivels and sags, vision blurs, urination is greatly reduced and painful, and delirium begins.

Body fluid losses greater than 15% are usually fatal.
Ethical concerns over death by dehydration
  • The mouth would dry out and become caked or coated with thick material.
  • The lips would become parched and cracked.
  • The tongue would swell, and might crack.
  • The eyes would recede back into their orbits and the cheeks would become hollow.
  • The lining of the nose might crack and cause the nose to bleed. The skin would hang loose on the body and become dry and scaly.
  • The urine would become highly concentrated, leading to burning of the bladder.
  • The lining of the stomach would dry out and the sufferer would experience dry heaves and vomiting.
  • The body temperature would become very high.
  • The brain cells would dry out, causing convulsions.
  • The respiratory tract would dry out, and the thick secretions that would result could plug the lungs and cause death.
  • At some point within five days to three weeks, the major organs, including the lungs, heart, and brain, would give out and the patient would die.
Hmmm....I believe the graphic descriptions of such morbid articulations as above should suffice as a shock-therapy for the discerning reader to immediately re-appraise his /her relationship as it pertains to drinking water.

As a suggestion, here's what I did:

  1. I embraced a paradigm shift from that of thirst quenching to system re-hydration.
  2. I bought me a .75L water bottle, which quickly became my favorite companion. I now finish about 1.5L of water daily because I take sips during the day rather than large amounts during meals or when I got thirsty.
  3. I significantly cut-down on the soft drinks and even juices, replacing them with more quality H2O.
  4. I was encouraged to drink more water because I found out it got absorbed very quickly while also increasing my rate of waste elimination.
  5. I persevered with the early morning practice until I felt my system adjust to the regimen.

Correct Time to Drink Water….Very Important…

Now I found this to be very interesting!! Even though I knew you need your minimum amount of water to flush the toxins out of your body, but this was news to me.

Drinking water at certain times maximizes its effectiveness on the body:

  • 2 glasses of water after waking up – helps activate internal organs.
  • 1 glass of water 30 minutes before a meal – helps digestion.
  • 1 glass of water before taking a bath – helps lower blood pressure.
  • 1 glass of water before going to bed – avoids stroke or heart attack.

In the final analysis, I guess a most poignant truth I want to leave you with today is this: Think more re-hydration, less thirst-quenching. And, there's a very personal benefit this has for me, my First Lady took note and got more endeared towards me. She says am learning more to take care of myself. Of course, I have to, cos just like you, I have only one body - and the #BodyMatters.

If you found this useful please share and leave a comment. Thank you and see you again soon.
